54 of 100 Mayors don't want new taxing power

EDMONTON/630 CHED - The Canadian Federation of Independent Business is congratulating 54 Mayors, Reeves and Managers of Alberta municipalities.

The CFIB sent out surveys asking if these leaders wanted new taxing powers which would include new taxes on property transfer, vehicle registration, amusement and tourism. Fifty-four of the 100 completed surveys disagreed with the mayors of Edmonton and Calgary and did not want to see these new powers awarded.
